CSS Help

OK, it’s early in this blog’s history to be doing this, but I need a fix for another of my websites. I’m redeveloping a site in my free time. The old version was framed, but I’m unframing it for search engine visibility.
And now for the question: Does anyone know of an easy-to-use, CSS-only method of creating a website layout with two columns (one nav and one content)? Please post answers to this question in the comments to this post if you have an idea. Thanks! I’ll post on this blog when the new site is up and running.

I am an avid technology and software user, in addition to being reasonably well-versed in CSS, JavaScript, HTML, PHP, Python, and (though it still scares me) Perl. Aside from my technological tendencies, I am also a theatre technician, sound designer, violinist, singer, and actor.
